What if Luxury were to meet heritage in an unexpected yet irresistible fusion: high-end beauty and the deep-rooted Italian coffee culture?
The rich aroma of espresso, the scent that lingers in the homes of our mothers and grandmothers, the unmistakable fragrance that fills the streets of small Italian villages—this is the essence of Italy. Espresso is not just a drink; it’s a ritual, a symbol, an unshakable pillar of Italian identity.
What if we could bring it with us everywhere?

The Essence of Coffee: an Ode to Italianità
I imagined what a revolutionary fragrance collection could be all about in order to capture the soul of Italian tradition, with a luxurious twist and contemporary vision.
After a long debate with my self, I came to the conclusion that if any of the Italian luxury maison were to craft such a thing, who better than Gucci could celebrate the Italianità? And who better than Lavazza to go along side this journey?
Picture this:
Lavazza and Gucci, two icons of Italian excellence, seamlessly blending their legacies into a fragrance collection that speaks both to the past and the present: a sensory journey that harks back to the elegance of la dolce vita and the slow, deliberate rhythms of life in Italy’s timeless towns – but with a bold, modern twist that pulses with the energy of today.

The Concept: Scent Capsules Reinvented
This perfume collection pays homage to Italianità, celebrating the emotional connection between coffe and memory. Lavazza, with its rich coffee heritage, conjures up images of sun-dappled piazzas, of espresso moments that stretch through the morning, and of gatherings that are as much about connection as they are about the brew… “Te lo vieni a prendere un caffè?”. It’s the spirit of Italy distilled into each aromatic note, a sense of ritual, an invitation to pause and savour – not just your espresso, but life.
Then there is Gucci the embodiment of the Italianità with a sense of constant reinvention at its core. Gucci embraces the heritage of Italy while constantly reshaping it, infusing every creation with a new sense of freedom and innovation.
A collaboration that transcends the ordinary.
The Fragrances: A Trio of Italian Indulgence
Each perfume in the collection tells a different olfactory story, inspired by the many nuances of Italian espresso culture.

This fragrance celebrates the comforting embrace of a cappuccino shared with loved ones at colazione. Sandal wood and whipped cream convey that feeling of comfort and warmth, just like a day that has began in the best way possible.
BAR IN PIAZZA – Fresh, Floral, Sweet

This fragrance is a tribute to the Italian bar, where every espresso is accompanied by a smile and a quick chat. The citrus notes blend perfectly with the fresh lavender ones, together with the sweetness of the cinnamon and honey aroma. The woody and musky base notes add a sensational feeling of tranquillity.
Customisation: “QUANTO ZUCCHERO?”
Just like a true Italian espresso, each fragrance offers a unique customisation experience where users can decide how bitter or sweet they want their perfume to be. Inspired by the age-old question at any Italian café—“Quanto zucchero?”—this innovative approach allows personalised scent intensity. Through an interactive in-store or online experience, customers can adjust the perfume’s composition by adding layers of sweetness (vanilla, caramel, honey) or depth (extra coffee, dark woods, smoky accords). This concept enhances user engagement and makes every bottle a unique expression of taste and personality.
The Design: Tradition meets Timeless Elegance
Moving away from ultra-modern minimalism, the bottle design embraces the heritage of Italian craftsmanship:
– Shape: Inspired by classic Italian apothecary bottles and vintage espresso flasks.
– Material: Richly tinted glass with delicate embossed detailing and elegant gold-plated caps.
– Opening Mechanism: A traditional screw cap with a tactile, luxurious feel, reminiscent of vintage perfume bottles.
– Sustainability:Designed to be refillable, promoting luxury without waste.
